What an unforgettable evening! The Newport Beach Historical Society celebrated our 1-Year Museum Anniversary in true tiki spirit with a special screening of The Donn of Tiki at the historic Lido Theater.

The film captivated the audience with its stunning storytelling, creative animation, and archival treasures, while the post-screening Q&A with the filmmakers made the night even more memorable.
We are deeply grateful to California State Assembly Member Diane Dixon for joining us and presenting a wonderful recognition of our anniversary, and to Newport Beach City Council Member Robyn Grant for her thoughtful words on the importance of preserving our city’s history and her commitment to strengthening the partnership between the City and our Society. Our sincere thanks also go to the filmmakers for sharing their incredible work and insights, to our dedicated Board of Directors whose tireless efforts brought this evening to life, and to Jennifer Keil, (Historical consultant at 70°), whose leadership and vision helped make the event a true success.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this film and our museum milestone together, we continue to honor and preserve the vibrant legacy of Newport Beach. Visit our Newport Beach Tiki exhibit at the Fun Zone! The exhibit includes artifacts on loan from the Surfing Heritage & Cultural Center and private collectors, including board member Ken Carpenter.
