February 2026

We are honoring the City of Newport Beach’s 120th anniversary! Learn more about the history of this community with our curated events at the Lido Theater. We are working together with Balboa Island Museum, Sherman Library and Gardens, Bill Lobdell, Visit Newport Beach and Mayor Lauren Kleiman with city council to accomplish these goals.

The Story of Irvine

Thank you for making The Story of Irvine a sold-out film at the Lido Theater. We appreciate the opening remarks by Mayor Lauren Kleiman. The Irvine family attended this curated screening. Guests enjoyed a curated screening of The Story of Irvine — a multi-part documentary series exploring the history of the Irvine Ranch and its lasting impact on Orange County.

Sin City: Newport Beach

Based on "Bawdy Balboa" by Judge Robert Gardner, "Sin City: Newport Beach" transports viewers to the 1920s and 30s, when Newport Beach was a raucous seaside playground fueled by illegal booze, gambling, and scandalous nightlife. Through the stories of a dance hall, a brothel, a formidable madame, and two larger-than-life Dukes, the film reveals how the once boisterous honky-tonk town transformed Newport Beach into the world-class luxury destination we know today.🎬 Sin City: Newport Beach📅 Thursday, February 26th📍 Lido Theater (3459 Via Lido, Newport Beach, CA 92663)Runtime 84 minutes.
